 “The Middle East since the ‘Arab Spring’. Revolutions, resilient authoritarianism and the refugee crisis”

The seminar will examine the Middle East crisis from with a multi-lateral approach, connecting the regional geopolitical competition to grassroots demands for social justice and democracy and to foreign political and military interference. The seminar will take a global approach to the study of issues such as ‘the refugee crisis’ in order to unveil the interconnectedness of the geopolitical interest of regional and international powers, while not neglecting the analysis of popular mobilisations and their specific characteristics in the context of different Middle Eastern and North African countries.

Le lezioni saranno tenute in lingua inglese e sono aperte anche a studenti di altri corsi di laurea fino a esaurimento posti
