Announcement of Fund raising for Scholarship
The Alberto Monroy Association (www.giomolab.it/AAM), in collaboration with the CNR Institute of Biomedicine and Molecular Immunology "Alberto Monroy" (IBIM), Palermo (https://www.ibim.cnr.it), is pleased to announce the opening of a fund raising of voluntary contributions, in order to support a scholarship for young researchers in memory of Dr. Valeria Matranga, (link-short biography), Senior Researcher of the Institute of Biomedicine and Molecular Immunology "Alberto Monroy", prematurely passed away on April 23, 2016.
Times and modes of realization
The fund raising is open to everybody, with particular regard for Family members /Relatives, Friends and Colleagues / Co-Workers of the various national and international research institutions with whom Valeria interacted in the course of her career. It will be active from May 23, 2016 (a month after her death) to June 30, 2016.

Times and modes of allocation of the Scholarship
The scholarship call will be published by the end of July 2016, so that the selection can take place as early as September 2016.
The Selection Committee for assigning the scholarship will be composed of two members of the Alberto Monroy Association and two Researchers / Technologists of the CNR Institute of Biomedicine and Molecular Immunology "Alberto Monroy", Palermo, belonging to the Research Group previously coordinated by Dr. Valeria Matranga. The Selection Committee will be chaired by the Director of IBIM, CNR, Palermo.
The scholarship, the amount of which will be determined at the end of the subscription, will be assigned to carry out scientific research at the Institute of Biomedicine and Molecular Immunology "Alberto Monroy" of the CNR, Palermo, on issues related to the sea urchin model system, an ancient tradition of the University of Palermo and of the CNR since Alberto Monroy's times, and on which Dr. Valeria Matranga had focused her career.
